All NC State staff, faculty and students interested in helping the university create a new campus CIO position and organization on campus are invited to attend an Open Campus Meeting on Tuesday, April 10, 4-5 p.m., in Winslow Hall (the former Alumni Building). Two consultants hired by the university--Dr. Gregory Jackson, CIO at the University of Chicago and Dr. John McCredie, CIO Emeritus UC- Berkley--will be leading this information-gathering session. -02- Discuss proposed course website Regulation: April 11
DELTA and the Faculty Senate encourage anyone involved in developing course websites to attend an open forum on a course website Regulation proposed for the campus. The Regulation is intended to ensure course websites comply with legal requirements. The open forum will be held April 11, in the D.H. Hill Library Assembly Room.
-03- Clicker vendors demo products: April 6
ClassTech will be sponsoring a meeting with three leading vendors of classroom response systems (a.k.a. "clickers") on April 6, at 1-3:30 in Cox 209. ClassTech is evaluating E-instruction, Turning Technologies, and Interwrite technologies in preparation for a clicker pilot/assessment project in the fall. Faculty, staff and students interested in developing campus standards for the use of clicker technologies to facilitate classroom learning are invited to attend. -04- Dial-up modem service ends: May 1
After decades of service to the university, the dial-up access lines 515-6320, 515-3980 and 513-0102 will be retired on May 1. ComTech has announced that they will be decommissioning all remote dial up access equipment, as support for the service is no longer feasible. Current users of the service have been notified.
